A homeowner sits at a kitchen table in the evening, researching a roofing job on a laptop with a printed quote and calculator beside him.

Reddit ads are promoted posts shown to people browsing Reddit, targeted by location and by the communities they follow. At Riley Summers, we use them to reach homeowners in their local city communities and in home improvement communities, running awareness and lead generation campaigns together. We manage the targeting, posts, tracking and reporting, on a flat monthly management fee.

Where Homeowners Ask Each Other

Reddit is one of the places homeowners go before a big job to ask other people what they think: what a new roof should cost, whether a quote sounds right, which local company did good work. Those conversations happen in city communities and home improvement communities, and the people in them are already thinking about the work.

That's the opportunity. It's also why an ad there has to earn its place. Reddit users tend to distrust anything that reads like a sales pitch, and they scroll past it. A post that reads like a knowledgeable local business sharing something useful gets read.

A pitch versus a useful post Two example Reddit ads. One reads like an ad, offering twenty percent off and urging people to call now, and gets scrolled past. The other reads like a knowledgeable local business, explaining what a roof inspection should cover before getting quotes, and gets read and remembered. Reads like an ad Reads like a neighbor Promoted Best roofers in town! 20% off this month. Call now! Call now Promoted What a roof inspection should cover before you get quotes A good inspection checks more than the shingles. Here's what to ask for, and what the answers tell you. Scrolled past Read, and remembered

So we write Reddit ads as useful posts first: what to look for, what a job involves, what to ask before hiring. The business earns attention by being helpful, and the homeowner remembers who helped when it's time to choose.

Who Reddit Ads Are For

Reddit ads suit considered work that homeowners research before hiring: a replacement, a remodel, a pool, a new roof. For that kind of job, reaching a homeowner while they're still asking questions puts the business in front of them before they've chosen who to call.

They're not the channel for urgent repairs. A homeowner with a burst pipe searches for a plumber and calls, and for that work, paid search comes first. We recommend Reddit when it has a real job to do, usually once the core channels are in place. We see the best results with businesses that have made a commitment to marketing.

How Results Are Measured

Each campaign is evaluated on the job it's there to do.

Lead Generation. Leads are tracked the same way we track paid search and reported by campaign from the platform's conversion data.

Awareness. We report impressions, and watch the business's analytics for more people searching for it by name and for more leads from those searches. Not every one of those searches comes from Reddit, so we treat them as a signal, not proof.

How It Starts

  1. Assessment. We review the work the business wants more of, its service area and whether homeowners research that work before hiring, and confirm that Reddit has a useful job to do.
  2. Account and tracking. The business grants us access to its Reddit ad account, with ad spend billed to its own card. We set up the Reddit Pixel and conversion tracking.
  3. Posts and build. We write the posts, choose the communities and location targeting, and build both campaigns. Video from the business's existing production can be used where it fits.
  4. Launch and ongoing management. The campaigns run within the agreed budget, and we review results with each monthly report.

A one-time setup fee covers the build. After that, we charge a flat monthly management fee, with no initial term and a 60-day out.

What's Separate

Reddit ads management covers the paid campaigns. These sit outside it:

Organic Reddit answers. Answering homeowners' questions on Reddit on the business's behalf is part of our AI & Search Visibility service.

Video production. Filming, editing and the script outline are quoted separately.

Other platforms. Facebook and Instagram, YouTube and TikTok ads are separate services.
